Official Visit to Tokyo, Japan

The Human Trafficking Deterrent Measures Concern Committee delegation visited Tokyo, Japan from 19 to 24 April 2010. The delegation visited the Inter-Ministerial Liaison Committee, with representatives of relevant departments including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Secretariat of Japan, Ministry of Justice and the National Police Agency to exchange experiences. The delegation also visited the Women’s Association (shelters) and was introduced to the operation of their facilities; In addition, the delegation had meetings with some NGOs including Japan Christian Women’s Association JNATIP to share views and experience on the issue of human trafficking; The delegation also met with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Japan in exchange of experience in combating human trafficking.
