First anniversary of the Helpline of The Women's general Association of Macau, setting up of on-line games to promote the Hotline.
17-07-2009
During the year since the operation of the 24-Hour Helpline for Human Trafficking Victims, six cases of seeking help and one report on human trafficking were received. The Hotline was set up by the Women's General Association of Macau (WGAM) with financial assistance from the Social Welfare Bureau, mainly to provide telephone consultation, emotional support, introducing community resources and referral to government departments concerned. It also worked with the Social Welfare Bureau to provide care, counselling and lodging to victims. It was the first anniversary of the Helpline coming into operation. The WGAM set up the online video games entitled "No More Silence, Go to Report" to combat human trafficking, to promote the helpline among the public through comic/cartoon games.
