Release of the《Report on the Study of Human Trafficking in Macao》

The Human Trafficking Deterrent Measures Concern Committee commissioned the University of Macau to conduct the evaluation research entitled《Report on the Study of Human Trafficking in Macao》. The research aims to review current measures by investigating the situation of Macau, public awareness and prosecution effort. The report which was released on October 17, 2011 points out that the SAR Government works with a positive attitude in the fight against human trafficking, despite the fact that there are rooms for improvement concerning public awareness. The report recommends the government to take appropriate measures, including source interception, victim identification, law enforcement, prosecution, promotion and education.
