Victim protection measures jointly adopted by government departments and NGOs.
Social Welfare Bureau:
Protection Shelter: Accommodated into protection shelter where daily living cares are given
Social Support: Proper financial assistance and therapeutic counseling are given
Social Integration: Victims are given training programs so as to facilitate integration
Health Bureau:
Body Check: General and detailed medical check-ups are given to victims
Medical Service: Medical care is given to victims
Hospitalization: Victims are admitted according to clinical need and are guaranteed not to be discriminated and disturbed
Counseling / Psychological Therapy: Hospitalized victims are given counseling and psychological therapies according to clinical need
Remark: The above services are free of charge as stipulated by law.
Public Security Police Force:
28889911 Report and Assistance Hotline: Channel for victims and public to report and seek assistance
Personal protection: Personal protection is given if a victim is under safety threat*
Stay permit: Legal stay in Macao is permitted during the period which is required for victims to recover and to assist in judicial investigation and legal proceedings
External communication: With consent of the victims, next of keens or corresponding government will be notified.
The Women's General Association of Macau:
Provide counseling service and material supply for Social Welfare Bureau shelters
Good Shepherd Centre:
Assistance service: Provide assistance and relevant arrangements to victims’ daily lives
Counseling service: Assist victims to reconstruct mental integrity
Translation service: Provide interpretation assistance
* Including threat of life, body integrity, freedom or property of considerably massive amount.
