Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking”

In order to strengthen citizens’ understanding and enhance their awareness of “human trafficking” and thus preventing the happening of such crimes, the Social Welfare Bureau assisted the Lai Yuen of the Macao Women General Association to organize a campaign called Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking”. The campaign provided introduction to the definition of human trafficking crimes, related legislations and important issues. The campaign used roll-up banners, game booths and online Q&A which toured among 6 service centres of the association: MWGA Northern District Family Service Centre, MWGA Northern District Service Centre, MWGA Lok Yi Day Care Centre for Elderly, MWGA Lok Mun Family Service Centre, MWGA Lok Iong Centre for General Familial Affairs, MWGA Rua da Barca Complex. The campaign was scheduled for 35 days between October 27, 2022 and November 30, 2022 which attracted more than 5600 participants.

1. The Lai Yuen of the Macao Women General Association organized the Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking” campaign which started on October 27. The first stop of the tour was organized at the MWGA Northern District Family Service Centre where citizens were shown with banners the Law No. 6/2008 and its relevant contents so as to enhance their awareness. The second stop was organized at the MWGA Northern District Service Centre.

2. Lai Yuen organized the Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking” campaign at the MWGA Lok Yi Day Care Centre for Elderly at Seac Pai Van on November 8 to disseminate the message of prevention of human trafficking and related issues to the elders.

3. Lai Yuen organized the Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking” campaign at the MWGA Lok Mun Family Service Centre on October 14. The participants showed much appreciation to the card games and paid much attention in finding the right answers.

4. Lai Yuen organized the Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking” campaign at the MWGA Lok Iong Centre for General Familial Affairs. In addition to introducing relevant issues to the participants, they were reminded stay sharp to the numerous deceptions by the conmen.

5. Lai Yuen organized the last stop of the Let’s Say No to “Human Trafficking” campaign at the MWGA Rua da Barca Complex between November 28 and 30 . The staff used game booths to highlight the 10 myths, relevant legislations and subjects of interest with on-site Q&A session. The occasion was highly welcomed by the participants.
