“Rights and Obligations in Labour Relations” – Sessions for Employers and Employees from Different Industries
02-06-2017
Between January and May 2017, the Labour Affairs Bureau, the Public Security Police Force and organizations from different industries (including the construction and hotel) organized 5 “Rights and Obligations in Labour Relations” explanatory sessions to their employers and employees which drew the attendance of more than 550 participants.
The sessions had adopted new modules, targeting the special characteristics of different industries, which provided case studies and lectures on minor features that could have been easily neglected. Contents of the seminars included the stipulations in the «Labour Relations Law», «Law on Employment of Non-resident Workers» and Law No.6/2008 «Combat the Crime of Trafficking in Persons». Pamphlets of the abovementioned laws were distributed at the scene so as to bring better understanding to the participants about employment rights and obligations, as well as the content of labour exploitation.
In order to enhance the interactivity, participants were allowed to have impromptu sharing during case studies while Q & A was also provided at the end of each session.
