27-11-2016

On November 27, 2016, upon the invitation by the Consulate of the Philippines, the Labour Affairs Bureau, jointly with the Legal Affairs Bureau and the Public Security Police Force, held the “Seminar on Rights and Obligations in Labour Relation”. Content of the seminar included the stipulations in the «Labour Relations Law», «Law for the Employment of Non-resident Workers», and the recently amended «Employees' Compensation Insurance Ordinance». The Law No.6/2008 «Combat the Crime of Trafficking in Persons» was also introduced so as to bring better understanding to the participants about employment rights and obligations, as well as the content of labour exploitation. The seminar also provided a Q & A session. It was attended by around 90 foreign workers during which they actively raised related questions. Pamphlets of the abovementioned laws were also distributed to them at the scene.
