"Preventing Forced Labor Work Group" visited Hong Kong for Experience Exchange

The “Preventing Forced Labor Work Group" under the Human Trafficking Deterrent Measures Concern Committee visited Hong Kong on September 25 – 26. The delegation includes representatives from Labour Affairs Bureau, Macao Customs, the Judiciary Police, Public Security Police and the Human Resources Office. The delegation visited the Hong Kong Labour Department and the Immigration Department, as well as the NGOs which focus on assisting foreign domestic helpers. Such NGOs include the International Organization for Migration (Hong Kong Office), PathFinders, Christian Action and Caritas Hong Kong. Through these meetings and exchange, the delegation have gained a better understanding of Hong Kong’s local preventive measures related to forced labor and their experience in handling related cases.
